Princess Cruises announced the name of the fourth Royal class ship, currently under construction at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. The vessel which is set to debut in October 2019, will be named Sky Princess.

With a gross tonnage of 143,700 tons , capacity of 3,660 passengers and 80% of cabins with balconies , the ship will be an evolution of the Royal class and will include the best features and services of the twins, like the central atrium The Piazza, articulated on three bridges and overlooked by lounges and restaurants, the interactive studio Princess Live, the adult-only relaxation area Sanctuary, the Camp Discovery club for children and teenagers, the Wide variety of restaurants, including Salty Dog Grill, Alfredo's Pizzeria, Vines Wine Bar, Chef's Table Lumiere and World Fresh Marketplace, Movies Under the Stars, and new furniture and design in all areas of the ship. Finally, there will also be other great news that Princess Cruises will unveil in the coming months.

"When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess entered our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now, after more than 30 years, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet, characterized by a modern design and contemporary innovations offered to exceed the expectations of our guests."

Sky Princess will make its debut in the Mediterranean, where it will make ten voyages with eight different itineraries. The inaugural cruise will start on October 20, 2019, from Piraeus and will end 7 days later in Barcelona, making stopovers in Montenegro, Greece, and Italy. It can be combined with the next departure, for a 14-day cruise with disembarkation in Civitavecchia and stops in Gibraltar, in France, and in Italy.

Among the new features of Princess Cruises' Mediterranean program, there is also a 7-day cruise with embarkation and disembarkation at Civitavecchia, which can be combined with the next departure, for a 14-day itinerary in the western Mediterranean, arriving in Barcelona.

Sky Princess's Mediterranean cruises will end on November 17, when the ship will sail for positioning in America. This last itinerary includes boarding in Barcelona for a 14-day transatlantic cruise that will end in Fort Lauderdale. It will also be combined with previous departures in the Mediterranean, for a large cruise of 21 or 28 days.

Princess Cruises has already ordered the fifth unit of the Royal class, which will make its debut in 2020.
