Sun, slides, swim-up bars, Norwegian Cruise Line is turning up the fun at Great Stirrup Cay, and the first upgrades are officially here.
The headline feature? Great Life Lagoon, a massive 1.4-acre heated pool, bigger than two Olympic pools combined with a beach-style entrance, family splash zone, two swim-up bars, and sleek private cabanas with ocean views. Translation: plenty of space to float, sip, and chill.

Families get Splash Harbor, a complimentary kids splash pad just steps from the pool, while adults can retreat to the new Vibe Shore Club an adults-only beachfront hangout with private cabanas and its own bar (day pass required). A new pier, welcome center, and island tram make getting around smoother than ever.
And this is just the warm-up.
Looking ahead to summer 2026, NCL plans to open Great Tides Waterpark, packing 19 waterslides, a towering slide complex, racing lanes, cliffside jumps, a nearly 800-foot river, and a huge splash zone for kids. Yes, conveyor belts will carry rafts uphill because vacation should stay easy.
With more than one million guests expected to visit the island in 2026 across 17 ships, Great Stirrup Cay is quickly becoming less “private island stop” and more full-day beach playground.
