The former Princess Cruises ship, Sea Princess received a new hull art and has been officially renamed to “Charming”. The 77,499 gross tonnage vessel has completed the dry dock refurbishment on January 28, 2021 in China Merchants Industry Holding Co shipyard at Mazhou Island.
Complete hull coating was added to the ship including a 10-meter high aluminum alloy logo on the funnel by the new cruise company named Foresee Cruises. The new hull art in some way resembles the Princess ships hull which feature the Princess Seawitch painted in blue color representing the adventure of cruise travel around the globe. The hull art on Charming features four blue waves with three white seagulls in the middle on the port and starboard side.
After Princess cruises announced the sale of two of its ships in September 2020, Sea Princess was handed over in Manila to Sanya International Cruise Development Co LTD, becoming China's Second Domestic cruise operator.
Built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri in 1998 the 2,000 berth Sea Princess sailed for Princess Cruises and briefly for P&O Cruises. Sea Princess became synonymous with World Voyages, with six full world cruises since 2013. Sea Princess sailed in Australia, Europe and Alaska as well as the Caribbean, including serving as a homeport ship in Barbados in the mid- to late-2000s. In September, Carnival Corporation's Princess Cruises has announced that the company is selling the ship along with her sister ship the Sun Princess. Back then buyers for the Sea Princess had not been announced while the Sun Princess was purchased by the Japanese NGO Peace Boat as the Pacific World.
