MSC Cruises plans a glamorous event in Dubai for the naming ceremony of the company's newest flagship MSC Virtuosa which will take place on November 27, 2021.
MSC Cruises, in partnership with Dubai Tourism, DP World and Emirates Airline, announced that the naming ceremony of the MSC Virtuosa, at Mina Rashid (Port Rashid ) will reflect the growing importance of Dubai as a destination for travelers from all over the world, as well as the important contribution of the cruise industry to the city's tourism growth.
Invited guests from the region and all over the world can expect an event with a breathtaking live program and various performances. The Gulf region is one of the key markets for MSC Cruises and the company is the market leader here.
The christening ceremony will be held in compliance with all public health and safety protocols established by the Dubai government, as well as with the support of MSC Cruises' health and safety protocol, which has allowed MSC ships to resume operations in the region. The event is also part of the celebrations for the UAE Golden Jubilee and will take place at the same time as Expo 2020 in Dubai.
The name of the newest member of the MSC Cruises fleet is derived from the Italian word “virtuoso” and refers to the master craftsmen who designed and developed this masterpiece. MSC Virtuosa was delivered in February 2021 and is one of the most innovative and ecologically advanced ships from MSC Cruises. It belongs to the generation of the Meraviglia class, which is characterized by an iconic, 112-meter-long promenade under a breathtaking LED sky.
