MSC Cruises Expands in the U.S. with New Terminal in Galveston

Submitted by kgnadmin on

MSC Cruises is expanding its presence in the United States by building a new cruise terminal at the Port of Galveston. The new facility, called Cruise Terminal 16, is part of a $151 million project that will transform old cargo warehouse into a modern terminal. Set to open in November 2025, this terminal will serve as the homeport for MSC Seascape, a state-of-the-art cruise ship.

The terminal will feature a spacious check-in area, a special lounge for MSC Yacht Club guests, and other amenities designed to make the passenger experience smoother and more enjoyable. Additionally, a $55 million parking garage will be constructed to provide easy access for travelers.

This development is expected to greatly increase the number of passengers passing through Galveston, with over 2 million travelers anticipated annually by 2026. The project is also set to create 925 new jobs and add $177 million in local revenue each year. This expansion into Galveston is a significant move for MSC Cruises, which already has a strong presence in other U.S. ports like Miami, Port Canaveral, and New York.

MSC Cruises' Global Terminal Presence

In addition to the new terminal in Galveston, MSC Cruises owns and operates several cruise terminals around the world:

•    Palacrociere Terminal in Genoa, Italy
•    Palacrociere Terminal in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
