MSC Cruises Delivers Aid to Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

MSC Group and the MSC Foundation have launched a relief effort to support the Jamaican Government’s humanitarian response following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on October 28.

The cruise ship MSC Divina delivered 12,700 liters of bottled water and 264 waterproof tarps to Jamaica. The supplies arrived in Ocho Rios on November 11 to meet immediate needs identified by local relief agencies, ensuring safe drinking water and materials for temporary shelters.

In addition, the MSC Foundation has committed to transporting 12 containers of relief goods from the United States and has provided 14 containers to assist local NGOs, including Food For The Poor and RG Cares Foundation, in distributing and storing aid. More initiatives are already being planned to further support the national recovery efforts.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises and Chair of the MSC Foundation Executive Committee, said:

“We are fully committed to supporting the people of Jamaica as they face the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Working with our local partners, we are coordinating the delivery of essential resources to bring relief to affected communities and ensure help reaches those who need it most.”

A heartfelt thank-you to MSC Cruises, the MSC Foundation, and all partners involved for standing with Jamaica during this critical time.
