TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 7 is celebrating its first anniversary after entering service on June 22, 2024.
Built by Meyer Turku in Finland, the 111,500-ton cruise ship was the seventh and final vessel in the original Mein Schiff series delivered by the shipyard to TUI Cruises between 2014 and 2024.
The ship was christened during the 2024 Kiel Week as part of a two-day celebration cruise. The ceremony included a sail through the Danish South Sea, followed by a light show and fireworks display in the Kiel Fjord. Environmental officer Fenia Kalachani served as godmother and officially named the vessel Mein Schiff 7.
Designed for the premium German-speaking market, Mein Schiff 7 began its service with Northern Europe sailings, homeporting in Kiel for the summer. The ship offered cruises to the Norwegian fjords, Iceland, and the Baltic Sea, alongside her sister ship, Mein Schiff 1.
In February 2025, TUI Cruises welcomed a new generation of vessels from Fincantieri in Italy, beginning with Mein Schiff Relax. A sister ship, Mein Schiff Flow, is set to follow in 2026.
Currently, Mein Schiff 7 is marking her first birthday north of the Arctic Circle, as part of a 14-day anniversary cruise from Kiel. The itinerary includes visits to Haugesund, Geiranger, Hellesylt, Longyearbyen, Honningsvåg, Tromsø, Trondheim, and Ålesund, before returning to Kiel on June 29, 2025.
