The arrival of Marella Discovery II at Limassol this week officially marked the start of Cyprus’ 2026 cruise season, reinforcing the island’s growing role as a key hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The ship will operate from DP World Limassol as its home port throughout the season, highlighting strong confidence in the port’s facilities, as well as Cyprus’ air connectivity and tourism infrastructure. The deployment also marks the continuation of the popular “Fly & Cruise” concept, where passengers arrive via Larnaca and Paphos airports before transferring مباشرة to the cruise terminal.
Operated by Marella Cruises, Marella Discovery II offers 918 cabins across 11 decks and a wide range of onboard features, including an outdoor cinema, mini golf, and a rock-climbing wall.
From April through November, the ship is scheduled for 26 port calls, sailing 8-day itineraries to destinations such as Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, Rhodes, and Crete before returning to Limassol.
Local officials say the return of Marella Discovery II further strengthens Limassol’s position as a strategic cruise hub, with continued investments aimed at enhancing passenger experience and supporting long-term growth in the region.
