The Post and Courier reports that a survival craft fell off Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Grandeur of the Seas. The accident happened on Monday afternoon while the vessel was in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. The newspaper says that the survival craft was a life raft, however witnesses report that a lifeboat fell off Grandeur of the Seas.
Preliminary reports state that no one was injured during the accident and there was no one in the lifeboat when it detached from the ship. U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the accident and crew are attempting to retrieve the lifeboat.
Grandeur of the Seas is currently on a 9-Nights Southeast Coast & Bahamas Cruise. The ship departed from Baltimore on January 14, with scheduled stops in Charleston, Port Canaveral, Miami, Nassau, Coco Cay, before returning to its homeport in Baltimore, Maryland on January 23.
