Royal Caribbean has announced a change in itinerary for Liberty of the Seas as the ship avoids the path of Tropical Storm Jerry. Originally scheduled to sail from Cape Liberty on October 11, 2025, for a five-night voyage to Bermuda, the cruise will now head north to Canada, with an overnight stay in Saint John, New Brunswick.
According to Royal Caribbean, the decision was made in consultation with the company’s Chief Meteorologist, Craig Seltzer, who has been closely monitoring a developing coastal low-pressure system in combination with the tropical storm’s path.
“The forecast tracks of these storms make it difficult to provide a safe and comfortable journey toward Bermuda,” the company said in a letter to guests. “After reviewing all possible alternatives, we’ve chosen to reroute the voyage and enjoy an overnight stay in Saint John.”
The Liberty of the Seas will now sail roundtrip from Cape Liberty with stops in Canada instead of Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard. “We’re terribly sorry for this last-minute change caused by weather; your safety is our top priority,” Royal Caribbean added.
Tropical Storm Jerry is currently affecting the Lesser Antilles and is expected to move north toward Bermuda over the coming days.
In a separate update, Royal Caribbean also informed guests sailing on Symphony of the Seas that embarkation has been moved two hours earlier due to deteriorating weather near the New York area. The Oasis-class ship is scheduled to depart Cape Liberty on October 12, 2025, for a seven-night voyage to Florida and the Bahamas, visiting Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau.
