Italian authorities seized 500 kilos of pure cocaine last week in a coordinated operation with Customs Agency - Anti-fraud unit and Prosecutor's Office - Anti-Mafia Directorate. This huge amount of cocaine was identified and seized on MSC cargo ship in one of the shipments destined for Ravenna, where the narcotic was probably intended for distribution throughout Northern Italy. Concealed in a container carrying timber from Brazil the cocaine was found in 18 bags.

In another operation Italian authorities in Calabria seized 40 kilos of cocaine, bound for France. This shipment was concealed in a container, carrying quinoa seeds from Chile and intended to Fos sur Mer (France).
