Disney Cruise Line is investing in the futures of young people across the Caribbean. Through its Treasure Tomorrow initiative, the company is supporting career exploration and youth empowerment programs in several of its key port communities.
In Tortola, high school students from the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) got a unique opportunity to board the Disney Treasure and meet with crew members and officers. From learning about hospitality and maritime careers to getting a behind-the-scenes look at the ship’s galley, students like Khala Mathavious and Rhianna James walked away inspired. “I couldn’t believe the head chef of the whole cruise spoke with us,” Rhianna said.
Over in Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Disney teamed up with Junior Achievement to give students firsthand insight into shipboard careers. During ship visits and virtual sessions, students explored roles in security, entertainment, human resources, and more. Assistant Cruise Director David Hunt shared his own career journey, saying, “Being able to guide the next generation is exciting.”
The initiative is also making room for environmental stewardship. In St. Thomas, crew from the Disney Treasure will join local students in patrolling beaches as part of the School Kids in the Park (SKIP) program, helping protect nesting sea turtles and promoting conservation awareness.
From ship tours to beach cleanups, Treasure Tomorrow is more than just outreach—it’s about planting seeds of opportunity and sustainability throughout the Caribbean. And Disney Cruise Line plans to keep that momentum going all year long.
