Due to the current developments caused by Hurricane Irma, Royal Caribbean International has issued an important notice for all employees who are on vacation and are scheduled to sign on, to double check their travel arrangements on their RCLCrewTravel website.
As of Tuesday, September 5, 2017, Hurricane Irma has strengthened into a Category 5 storm (maximum sustained winds of 295 kph or 183 mph), according to the US National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.
Forecasts indicate that Irma, the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane in recorded history, could make landfall in Florida over the weekend of September 9 to 10. The Caribbean islands of Puerto Rico, the US, and the British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Martin/St. Maarten, and St. Barts are now under hurricane warnings.
