Royal Caribbean North Star attraction has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Highest Viewing Deck on a Cruise Ship.” North Star is a state-of-the-art exclusive experience on Royal Caribbean Quantum class ships taking guests 300 feet in the air above the sea in a glass capsule, offering a 360-degree view. This technological wonder is positioned on the upper deck on Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas.
“Royal Caribbean has a reputation for doing things bigger and better in the cruise industry, and we’re thrilled to add a new Guinness World Record to our resume.” Said Royal Caribbean representative. According to Royal Caribbean CEO Richard Fain the idea for North Star was inspired by bringing the London Eye at sea. However instead of placing it on a ferris wheel, North Star has just one pod attached to a giant robotic arm. North Star was first introduced in 2014, on Quantum of the Seas together with a series of innovations in design and technology, and also numerous activities and dining experiences.
Earlier this year two Guinness Records were set on cruise ships. In October Donnie Wahlberg set new Guinness world record for most selfies on board the cruise ship Carnival Triumph. Campari Aperol set Guinness world record onboard Costa Favolosa for largest ever Spritz cocktail in May.
