For the first time in its 160-year history, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) has taken its gaming expertise beyond Monaco’s borders. On November 14, 2024, the inaugural Monte-Carlo Casino outside Monaco was unveiled aboard the luxury cruise ship Crystal Symphony in Venice, Italy. The event was attended by industry leaders, including Manfredi Lefebvre, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group, and Stéphane Valeri, Chairman-Elect of SBM.
A franchise agreement signed earlier in 2024 established that all future Crystal ships (excluding expedition vessels) will feature Monte-Carlo Casinos, blending Monaco’s rich heritage with Crystal’s hallmark of luxury.

The onboard casino spans 110 square meters, reflecting the elegance of Monte-Carlo's Salon 1889. Designed under the leadership of Olivier Bernard, SBM’s Director of Real Estate Development, the casino features exquisite elements like a central crystal chandelier and Belle Époque-inspired decor. Crystal croupiers, trained in SBM’s prestigious School of Games, deliver the signature Monte-Carlo experience, ensuring a seamless extension of its celebrated gaming tradition.

A second Monte-Carlo Casino is scheduled to debut aboard Crystal Serenity on December 18, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This expansion aligns with SBM's vision to cater to a high-end international clientele, particularly in the American market.

“We are thrilled to bring the Monte-Carlo experience to new horizons,” said Stéphane Valeri, CEO of SBM. “This collaboration with Crystal Cruises is a significant step in sharing our globally recognized expertise with an elite audience.”
