A cruise vacation turned chaotic on June 7, when a wild fight broke out on the Lido deck of Carnival Sunrise, shocking other passengers and security to break it up. The incident happened around 5:30 PM while the ship was on a four-day roundtrip cruise from Miami to The Bahamas.
In a video several guests are seen fighting, throwing chairs, and causing a major scene while others try to get out of the way. Security officers rushed in to stop the brawl as people screamed and scattered across the deck.
Many on social media reacted with frustration, saying this kind of behavior is happening too often—especially on Carnival cruises.
Carnival isn’t the only cruise line that has seen fights on board, but it gets the most attention for these kinds of incidents. Some feel that banning guests for life, which is Carnival’s current policy for anyone who starts a fight, isn’t stopping the bad behavior.
The cruise line has a zero-tolerance policy for violence—anyone caught fighting is permanently banned from sailing with Carnival again. In some cases, law enforcement may also get involved when the ship docks.
It’s not yet known what started the fight or if anyone was seriously hurt. Carnival has not made a public comment about the situation.
