The German Cruise Line Aida Cruises is planning a major event in Papenburg, for the christening ceremony of its latest cruise ship "Aida Nova". The new cruise ship, which can run on low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be christened on Friday, August 31, at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg and at the same time a live concert is scheduled with the iconic DJ David Guetta.
In collaboration with Hannover Concerts and Four Artists, Aida Cruises brings the world star to the Ems: David Guetta who will perform his only solo open-air concert in Germany. The two-time Grammy winner is one of the most successful DJs and music producers in the world and thrills millions of fans with hits like "I Gotta Feeling", "Lovers On The Sun" or "When Love Takes Over".
On the evening of the baptism, the ship will be "impressively staged" in front of the Werfthalle in Papenburg. "The ceremonial christening ceremony will be crowned by a staging and a fireworks display." Who will baptize the youngest fleet member, is not yet revealed.
Ticket sales for the David Guetta open air concert will start this Friday for the price of 35 Euro exclusively at www.eventim.de. The official takeover of the ship is scheduled for November 15 in Bremerhaven. Before the maiden voyage, which will take you from Hamburg to the Canary Islands on 2 December, a few short cruises are already on the program. There will be also live stream on the Internet of the christening ceremony so if you cant make it in Papenburg on August 31, you can experience the event at Aida official website.
