Following today’s announcement by The Walt Disney Company of plans to build two new cruise ships, Disney Cruise Line celebrated with guests on board the Disney Magic – they very first Disney Cruise ship – during a special Sail Away Party. The new cruise ships are scheduled to be completed in 2021 and 2023. 

Each will be approximately 135,000 gross tons – slightly larger than the latest Disney Cruise Line ships, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream – and will include about 1,250 staterooms. 

While design plans, ships names and itineraries are still in development, the Walt Disney Imagineering team is dreaming up unique new ways to create the worlds most magical oceangoing adventures. Since first setting sail in 1998, Disney Cruise Line provided a quintessential family cruise vacation experience that combines the Disney magic with the thrill of exploring different parts of the world.
