TV stars and show hosts came together as godparents of Princess Cruises' newest ship, Discovery Princess at the Port of Los Angeles. The godparents included fashion designer Randy Fenoli, chef Alex Guarnaschelli, special effects designer and fabricator Adam Savage, and real estate broker and flipper extraordinaire Page Turner.
Standing together at the Retreat Pool on the open deck of Discovery Princess with the ship's Captain Gennaro Arma, they pronounced, "We name this ship Discovery Princess. May God bless her and all who sail on her." They then sent a huge bottle of Nebuchadnezzar-sized champagne aboard the celebratory strike, officially welcoming the Discovery Princess to the fleet of Princess Cruises, the world's leading international cruiser and West Coast leader.
The Discover Our World-themed ceremony blends maritime tradition with modern elements, celebrating the exclusive, seven-year Discovery at SEA program - bringing a spirit of curiosity and exploration to every cruise through branded experiences such as Shark Week at Sea, exclusive shore excursions and boat activities. such as Camp Discovery and Stargazing at SEA youth centres.
