Today Diamond Princess collected crew members from the Philippines and senior officers from other nationalities which will be later transferred to other Carnival Corp. cruise ships in the region.
Five buses with around 100 crew members arrived in the port of Manila following strict health and safety protocols and social distancing guidelines before boarding the Diamond Princess. They joined the ship after completing 7-day quarantine in a hotel provided by the company, PCR testing, and daily temperature checks following the strict protocols. The crew will undergo additional quarantine on board the Diamond Princess and PCR tests before they will be allowed to start with regular duties.
According to our source, the Diamond Princess will set sail to Singapore where ship-to-ship transfers will take place before the crew joins their assigned vessel. The estimated time of arrival is March 29, after that, the transfer to the assigned vessels will take place on April 4.
Several photos of the boarding in the port of Manila were shared by the popular Facebook group Buhay Sa Cruise Ship (Life On A Cruise Ship).
As our source said the main goal of the post is to give hope to the crew and encourage them to never give up. The ships are gearing up to start cruising and everyone should be ready. One team one dream.
