As uncertainty remains regarding travel in the region, Celebrity Cruises has made a decision to cancel the entire Asia season 2022-2023 of the Celebrity Solstice. The season was supposed to last from September 2022 to April 2023 with 19 cruises affected. The cruise ship was scheduled to arrive in Japan in September to cruise from Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong. As a replacement Solstice will spend the season to the Mexican Riviera, taking over sailings previously assigned to Celebrity Millennium. It will presently cruise within the Caribbean starting in September. There’s no word however on what Millennium‘s particular itineraries within the Caribbean will be.
"We have made the difficult decision to cancel our Asia season due to the ongoing uncertainty around when international operations might fully restart in this region," the cruise line said in a statement. "We thank our guests for their patience and understanding as the world continues to reopen and we continue to work through unique circumstances."
Guests on the canceled Celebrity Millennium Mexican Riviera sailings received an email encouraging them to move to Celebrity Solstice, touting The Lawn Club and other comforts that are found on the bigger Solstice-class ship.
"At this time, we will automatically move your cruise reservation to the Celebrity Solstice Mexican Riviera sailing at the same rate, including any promotion currently on the booking," the email said. "No action is required on your part to initiate this move."
Guests who were booked to cruise Solstice in Asia moreover have until May 12, to rebook to another Asia voyage in 2023 or 2024.
The Celebrity Millennium Pacific Coastal cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles, scheduled to depart on September 16, 2022, has been completely canceled. Guests booked on that cruising got a mail advertising a choice of moving to another Celebrity Travels ship or accepting a full refund.
Celebrity Cruises has not announced where Celebrity Solstice will spend the winter of 2023. Celebrity Millennium was originally scheduled to depart from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale on December 19, 2022.
