Carnival Cruise Line announced that due to ongoing rescue and recovery operations in Baltimore Harbor following the Key Bridge collapse, its operations for Carnival Legend will be temporarily relocated to Norfolk, Virginia.
Carnival Legend is set to conclude its current journey on Sunday, March 31, with its return now scheduled for Norfolk instead of Baltimore. To accommodate guests affected by this change, Carnival will provide free bus transportation from Norfolk back to Baltimore. Furthermore, the ship's upcoming seven-day cruise starting on March 31 will embark from and return to Norfolk. Carnival is actively notifying guests booked on the current and next voyage about these alterations.
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed the company’s solidarity with those affected in Baltimore and acknowledged the commitment by President Biden to ensure Baltimore Harbor is reopened to maritime traffic promptly. “While we await the finalization of these efforts, we're grateful for the swift assistance and hospitality offered by the city of Norfolk. We will keep our future cruise guests informed about when operations will resume in Baltimore,” Duffy stated.
