Carnival Brings Back ‘Fun-ternship’ Program for Summer 2026

Carnival Cruise Line is once again opening the doors to life behind the scenes with the return of its summer “Fun-ternship” program, offering more than 100 students a hands-on look at cruise terminal operations.

Following a successful debut in 2025, the eight-week program will run across six U.S. homeports—Baltimore, Tampa, Jacksonville, Norfolk, New York City, and Long Beach—giving participants aged 17 and older the chance to experience embarkation day operations firsthand.

Students will work alongside port service teams, gaining practical training, mentorship, and insight into careers in travel and hospitality, all while earning an hourly wage. The experience wraps up with a ship tour and a special onboard luncheon with Carnival leadership.

Carnival President Christine Duffy said the program aims to build confidence, leadership skills, and real-world experience, while showcasing the importance of the cruise industry in local communities.

Applications are open until June 8, 2026, with the program running between June and August, depending on the homeport.
