The cruise ship Oceania Vista arrived Monday morning at the port of Acapulco carrying 1,108 passengers and 776 crew members. With this call, the beach destination has now welcomed seven cruise ships so far this year, and nine across the state of Guerrero overall.
Passengers were greeted dockside by state officials in a traditional welcome ceremony featuring regional music, folkloric dances, and locally inspired souvenirs. Authorities thanked the cruise line, crew, and guests for including Acapulco in their itinerary, calling the visit another sign of renewed momentum for the port’s cruise industry.
State representatives highlighted that cruise arrivals have increased under the current administration, helping generate income for local families whose livelihoods depend on tourism.
Guerrero Tourism Secretary Simón Quiñones Orozco said the ship’s arrival provides an additional boost to the local economy, especially following the successful Abierto Mexicano de Tenis, which brought strong visitor numbers to the city. He noted that cruise tourism complements other major events and helps sustain steady activity throughout the season.
During their time ashore, visitors are expected to explore some of Acapulco’s most iconic attractions, including the famous cliff divers at La Quebrada and the historic Fuerte de San Diego, along with beaches and other cultural landmarks.
