The US Coast Guard suspended the search for a passenger who went overboard from Carnival Liberty cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico a day after having set sail from Galveston, Texas. In a statement released on Monday, the Coast Guard said the search for Samantha Broberg, 33, was suspended on Sunday night after the teams searched the area for more than 20 hours, covering more than 11,130 square kilometers. The cruise company Carnival Cruise Line said that ship security video shows Samantha Broberg falling overboard at 2 am on Friday. Carnival said she was seen sitting on the railing on deck 10 and then falling into the sea. The Carnival Liberty docked in Galveston this Monday morning.
