Oceania Cruises vessel MS Nautica broke moorings at the port of Greenock, Scotland today. The cruise ship encountered extremely strong winds of up to 90 mph by the Storm Ali, which resulted in the parting of mooring lines.

Oceania Cruises has issued a statement saying: "This afternoon, while alongside at the port of Greenock, Scotland, Nautica encountered extremely strong winds which resulted in the parting of mooring lines and the vessel being detached from the dock. All guests and crew on board are safe and there were no injuries. Tugs have been called in to assist and the vessel is currently being held off of her berth."

"478 guests and 26 crew are ashore and are being looked after by the shore operations teams until conditions are safe enough for the vessel to be returned to the passenger terminal."

According to Dunoon Observer, the Cruise ship Nautica broke her stern moorings in high winds while berthed at Greenock Ocean Terminal earlier. The ship is now being held in place by three tugs. MS Nautica is expected to dock again in the evening to pick up passengers and crew who are at the dock.
