Princess Cruises has announced cancellations of 19 voyages scheduled for Crown Princess and Island Princess. Guests who have booked these cruises and travel agents are informed about the latest changes.

“After careful consideration, we have found it necessary to delay the restart of Island Princess and Crown Princess to Spring 2022 to enable further staggering of our broader return to service plans. Island Princess will now return to service on April 27 with her published 14-day Panama Canal cruise and Crown Princess will restart on her published May 7 seven-day cruise to Alaska. As a result of these changes, the following cruises have been cancelled.”

Guests will be offered several options: full refund, future cruise credit or booking a cruise with the same price in the future. A claim form should be sent to the company by 30th of September, or they will automatically be moved to a replacement voyage. 

Princess Cruises' progress on resuming voyages is going according to plan with several ships already back in service, and this delaying of the restart of Island Princess from Fort Lauderdale and Crown Princess from Los Angeles is quite a surprise. 

But still, Princess Cruises didn’t announce the specific reason for this delayed restart, just that they would like to enable further staggered return to service. The real reason could be the time the company needs to prepare fully for traveling and maybe more vaccinated crew members, as well.
