Royal Caribbean newest cruise ship Symphony of the Seas is ready for its first sea voyage. The world’s largest cruise ship will set sail tomorrow, January 20, for its first sea trials off the coast of Brittany. The youngest ship of the Oasis class will undergo numerous tests by STX France's Saint-Nazaire shipyard to check the complete technology on board, starting with the machines, through the stabilizers, navigation device on the bridge. Every little thing is tested and all security systems tried several times to see if everything works as it should be.
Symphony of the Seas will be inaugurated on March 31, in Barcelona Spain. The $1.35 billion cruise ship will stay in the Mediterranean all summer, until October, for its European season. In November, the giant of the seas will begin his Atlantic crossing to reach his home port Miami.
Onboard features will include "Firsts at Sea" such as the 25-meter zipline, a handcrafted carousel, the Rising Tide Bar - designed as a floating bar, the Aqua Theater and Central Park with over 12,000 real trees and plants. In addition, the ships offer unique amenities such as two FlowRider surf simulators, over-the-side whirlpools, an ice skating rink, Splashaway Bay - a children's water park - and the Royal Promenade.
