Continuing with the tradition of exceptional art with a unique artistic motif Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed the hull design of their latest cruise ship, Norwegian Bliss. Named “Cruising with the Whales,” the hull art by the famous marine artist Wyland features image of a mother humpback whale and her calf as centerpiece of the ships distinctive design.

Red fire alert was sounded at the German Shipyard Meyer Werft on Saturday. The fire broke out in the early morning hours on the Norwegian Cruise Line new build ship Norwegian Joy. The fire started on one of the staterooms balcony on Deck 9, at around 7:50 a.m. The hall was evacuated, and luckily no one was injured. Affected by the fire are several decks of the 326 meter long vessel. 130 firefighters and dozens of rescue workers were deployed to the shipyard.

The Impractical Jokers Sal, Joe, Q, and Murr will board on a cruise ship once again, performing pranks and jokes with all guests on board. The 2016 Impractical Jokers Cruise was a major success and they decided to take to the seas in 2017 on NCL Norwegian Pearl.

The Italian press reports that Norwegian Cruise Line is about to sign a giant order with Fincantieri. Six ships of 130,000 GT and cost of $700 Million each would be involved in the agreement, the first to be delivered in 2022. If the information is confirmed, it will be great news for Fincantieri.

A wedding proposal was captured by Sami Hall aboard the NCL cruise ship Norwegian Breakaway. A young man proposed to his future wife in the 800-seat, Breakaway Theater on Monday September 26th, during game show while the ship was sailing on a 7-days cruise to Bermuda. Back in the mid-80s the NBA Legend Michael Jordan boarded the Norwegian Cruise Line flagship SS Norway, purchased by NCL in 1979. Back then “SS Norway” sailed the Caribbean from Miami, Key West, Cozumel, Roatán and Great Stirrup Cay. Not much is known about this cruise that MJ took, except this photograph released by Jay Hairston on the social networks as a proof that Jordan was onboard.

The German Meyer Werft shipbuilding dock 2 was evacuated today due to a fire that started during construction works on Norwegian Cruise Line latest ship, Norwegian Joy. According to Meyer Werft spokesman Gunther Kolbe, the fire started at around 7 a.m. at a junction box of the cruise ship. All workers were evacuated from the affected production area and firefighting teams were send to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished and there are no injured workers.

During the scheduled dry dock in Palermo on Princess Cruises ship Royal Princess, a 60 tons crane fell to the yard just next to the ship. The accident happened yesterday inside the basin during a lifting operation. The crane detached from the top of the fixed platform which was a cause of the accident. Fortunately no one was near the place where the crane fell and there are no reported injured workers.
