The cruise ship Diamond Princess made last-minute cancellation yesterday to its scheduled stop in Dunedin, New Zealand 

Due to strong winds the ship couldn't berth and the captain decided to cancel the arrival and all excursions in Dunidin turning the ship away close to Taiaroa Head. Most popular tour, Dunedin Railways trips booked by 700 Princess passengers was also canceled.

Louise van de Vlierd, Dunedin visitor centre manager said  "The Diamond Princess had been right out there, ready to come in, however the news of cancellation did not come through until 7.40am''.

Strong winds are common in Dunedin. Last year 4 out of 76 cruise ships canceled their visit to Dunedin including Diamond Princess.

Diamond Princess departed on14 days New Zealand from Auckland to Sydney on 02 -March-2016.
