A crew member was arrested by the Croatian Police in the port of Split for sexual assault. According to the Croatian Newspaper 24 Sata, a 26-year-old crew member with Turkish nationality who was working as a cook on a cruise vessel sexually assaulted a 68-year-old woman. Split County State Attorney's Office says that the incident happen on July 9th at around 11:20 p.m. when the young man who was intoxicated assaulted the woman near a residential building. The victim was rescued by her neighbors who heard her call for help.

The court has imposed a one-month prison sentence on the Turkish citizen because of the danger of escaping, the State Attorney's Office said. The identity of the crew member or the name of the cruise ship he was working on was not released.
