Crew member who forced a miscarriage on Norwegian Dawn is released by court

A crew member which was arrested together with her partner in Bermuda on August 7, 2017, for causing her own miscarriage has been released by the Supreme Court. She and her partner, booth crew members of the cruise ship Norwegian Dawn walked free from the court in Bermuda yesterday, reports The Royal Gazette.

The woman admitted taking Misoprostol (Pills for abortion) on August 6 while the vessel was docked in Bermuda to induce a miscarriage of her baby. The couple was arrested after her partner was searched by Norwegian Dawn security as he tried to take the 22-week fetus off the cruise liner in his backpack. The discovery was reported to the Bermuda Police Authorities after which booth crew members were arrested and charged with criminal offenses. 

The crew members working as waiters on Norwegian Dawn were in a relationship when she became pregnant. After discovering of her pregnancy she bought the Misoprostol in Mexico and took the medicine to cause the miscarriage when the cruise ship was docked in Bermuda.

“I was really confused because I love my job and I don’t want to go home because I am thinking about my future and family and his future. she said in a court hearing.
