The fear of another Coronavirus outbreak on cruise ship became reality after 21 people tested positive for COVOD-19, including 19 crew members and 2 passengers on Grand Princess. The news was released just minutes ago by Vice President Mike Pence, adding that 24 tested negative and one test was inconclusive.

These are the test results of the 46 people aboard who were showing flu-like symptoms. There are 3,533 people currently onboard the Grand Princess, including 2,422 guests and 1,111 crew members from 54 nationalities.

The US Government is working with California authorities to develop a plan which will be implemented this weekend, to bring Grand Princess to a non-commercial port. Mr. Pence added that it was likely the infected crew members caught the virus on the previous voyages and expects all 1,111 crew to be quarantined on the ship.

"In collaboration with the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and local authorities, samples were collected today from 46 people on Grand Princess, which includes a mix of guests and team members.” Princess Cruises said in a statement Thursday night.

The cruise ship is under lockdown off the coast of San Francisco, California after officials identified a "small cluster" of coronavirus cases in California from guests aboard the previous Grand Princess February 11-21 voyage.

"Princess Cruises medical team will begin outreach to guests regarding all medication needs. A form will be distributed to guests onboard to request prescription refills. The ship has quickly transitioned food & beverage service to provide Room Service for all staterooms." the cruise line added to the statement
